In Netflix’s "The Tinder Swindler," an Israeli man named Shimon Hayut used his fake identity as diamond heir Simon Leviev to trick multiple women into sending him money. One of these women, Pernilla Sjoholm, lost around $45,000 due to his lies, but she has taken multiple steps to rebuild her life — especially in light of her newfound fame.

After the release of “The Tinder Swindler,” Sjoholm created a GoFundMe page with two other victims of Leviev, raising around $225,000 before it ended. She also sued financial institution ING for allowing her to send such large payments to Leviev, despite the fact that he was reportedly on at least one fraud watch list.

Since "The Tinder Swindler" premiere, Sjoholm's social media following has exploded and she has certainly taken advantage of it. She has been a speaker at multiple events and partnered with brands like Ole Hendriksen. She has also recently moved in with her boyfriend, whom she did not meet on Tinder.
