THE TRUTH ABOUT JAMES TAYLOR'S RELATIONSHIP WITH CAROLE KING
By AARON HOMER
History - Science
James Taylor and Carole King were two of the biggest names on the music scene in the ‘60s and ‘70s, and their paths often crossed. However, despite a longtime personal friendship and professional collaboration, the two were never romantically involved.
James Taylor’s most famous romantic relationship was his marriage to Carly Simon, although he has been married a few other times as well. Similarly, King has been married multiple times, but her 50+-year relationship with Taylor is strictly about music and friendship.
Describing a 1969 meeting during which the two jammed together, King stated, "His guitar and my piano just rolled around. And we just felt like we knew each other and had played together forever." Taylor agrees, saying, "[Carole] and I probably just have the same musical DNA."
