Russian model Gretta Vedler — known for her outspoken social media personality — died under tragic, yet complicated circumstances. Her social media history received attention following her death, because she had insulted Vladimir Putin — making pointed remarks about his small stature and writing, “In my opinion, a clear psychopathy or sociopathy is seen in him.”
Although many had wondered if her murder was connected to the brazen social media posts, the reality was different. The Daily Beast reports that Vedler tried reaching out to her friends about her abusive boyfriend, Dmitry Korovin.
Vedler’s boyfriend, Dmitry Korovin, strangled her to death in Moscow after getting into an argument over money. He stuffed her body into a gray suitcase and stowed it inside the trunk of a car — abandoning it 300 miles away in Lipetsk — for a year before his crime was discovered.
Although Korovin tried fooling Vedler’s Instagram followers by posting from her account, her friends became suspicious and ended up filing a missing person report in Moscow. In March 2022, the discovery of the model's body in the gray suitcase proved that her death wasn’t a conspiracy or cover-up — but a case of domestic homicide.
