Variety reported that acclaimed folk-rock musician David Crosby has died at the age of 81. His death was confirmed by a statement from Crosby's wife, Jan Crosby, who wrote that her husband passed away after a long illness.
"[Crosby] was lovingly surrounded by his wife and soulmate Jan and son Django. Although he is no longer here with us, his humanity and kind soul will continue to guide and inspire us," read Jan Crosby’s statement. In addition to his wife and son, Crosby is also survived by two daughters from previous relationships.
As a musician, Crosby played with the Byrds and Crosby, Still, Nash & Young. In his career, Crosby also released a number of solo records, and his latest work "For Free" came out in 2021.
