THE HEART-WRENCHING DEATH OF ANGELA LANSBURY

Actress Angela Lansbury died on October 11 at the age of 96. NBC News reports that according to her family, she died "peacefully in her sleep" in her Los Angeles home, just five days before her 97th birthday.
Born Angela Brigid Lansbury in London, England on October 16, 1925, she went on to study acting at the Lucy Fagan School in New York before moving to Los Angeles to audition for movies. She was nominated for an Oscar for her cinematic debut in “Gaslight,” and she would go on to star in “The Picture of Dorian Gray,” “The Harvey Girls,” “The Manchurian Candidate,” and many more.
She was thrice nominated for an Oscar, and while she never won, she did receive an honorary Oscar in 2014. Of course, Lansbury is best known for playing Jessica Fletcher for 12 seasons on “Murder She Wrote.”
Angela Lansbury was married to actor Richard Cromwell from 1945 to 1946; they divorced, but reportedly remained friends until his death in 1960. She married her second husband, actor Peter Shaw, in 1949 and they were married until his death in 2003. They had two children, Deirdre and Anthony.
