History - Science
In June 2018, renowned chef Anthony Bourdain was found deceased in his hotel room in France where he was filming for his TV series "Parts Unknown." He was 61 years old and his death was ruled a suicide; fans and colleagues in the culinary industry commemorated him as a "giant talent" and an "exceptional human being."
At the time of his death, Bourdain reportedly had a net worth of $1.2 million. Based on court documents, he had $425,000 in savings, $250,000 worth of personal property, and $35,000 in brokerage accounts, but these numbers reflect only a portion of his wealth since he had a separate trust with an undisclosed value.
In his last will, Bourdain left the majority of his estate to his 11-year-old daughter Ariane Bourdain and appointed her mother Ottavia Busia as the executor. Ariane will be given money from the trust on her 25th birthday, and then again when she turns 30 years old; at 35 years old, she will have access to the remainder of the amount in the trust.
