Dr. Dre has been at the center of countless controversies over the years, from allegedly assaulting a police officer, a TV producer, and a female TV host to leading police on a chase when they tried to arrest him for driving drunk. In addition, he was involved in a court case with Death Row records when he didn’t receive royalties for the reissue of his 1992 album “The Chronic.”
However the most serious of Dre’s legal issues involve the way he treated women in his life. Denise “Dee” Barnes, who sued him in 1992, told Gawker in 2005 that the rapper slammed her to the wall and tried choking her with his knee to her back, which led to migraines.
At the 1990 Grammys, Dre confronted rapper Tairrie B. for recording a diss song against NWA and punched her twice, eventually threatening to destroy her career if she didn’t drop the charges. Additionally, Dre was in a relationship with the singer Michel’le for six years, but Dre would often hit her, which led to injuries like a broken nose and a cracked rib.
