BRANDI WORLEY'S MOTIVE FOR MURDERING HER OWN CHILDREN
By REMY MILLISKY
History - Science
On November 15, 2016, Jason Worley told his 30-year-old wife, Brandi, that he wanted a divorce, and the very next day, Brandi purchased a combat knife. On November 17, Brandi woke her 7-year-old son, Tyler, to ask if he wanted to have a sleepover in his sister Charlee's room — and once they were in 3-year-old Charlee's room, Brandi stabbed Tyler numerous times.
Brandi then killed Charlee with the knife and started to inflict harm on herself, later saying, "I just wanted to die with them." In the early morning hours of November 17, Brandi called her mother, who rushed to the house.
At around 4:30 a.m., Jason raced to the room when he heard his mother-in-law's screams, and Brandi turned to him and said, "Now you can't take the kids from me." Brandi then called 911 and emotionlessly explained to the dispatcher what she had done.
Brandi, who was then taken to the hospital to treat her self-inflicted knife wounds, continues to show no remorse — even years after the murders — and she is unable to give a reason why she suddenly snapped. Brandi was sentenced to 120 years in prison on the two murder charges — 55 years for Tyler's murder, and 65 years for Charlee's.
Reports claim that she has depression, and she has shown no emotions or reactions to the double murder because of it. Brandi's divorce from Jason was made official in March 2017, and she is now staying at the Indiana Women's Prison, where her sentence will not end until the year 2106 at the earliest.
