Vince McMahon Has A Very Predictable Favorite Band

Wrestling is a popular pastime in America, especially televised professional wrestling. As reported by Fightful, the number of viewers for televised wrestling productions can be in the millions, making them some of the most-viewed programs on TV right now. And, of course, one cannot discuss televised wrestling without mentioning World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). WWE has a long and proud history, beginning with its ex-CEO, Vince McMahon, purchasing it in 1982, and transforming it into the televised phenomenon it is today (via WWE).

According to its Superstars page, WWE has produced some of the most famous and memorable celebrity wrestlers in recent memory. Wrestlers such as John Cena, the Rock, the Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, and more got their start on WWE. Vince McMahon, the man behind it all, had a heavy hand in popularizing and selling the image and brand of WWE, as Britannica notes. But what about the private life and hobbies behind McMahon? For example, what's his favorite band? The answer might be very predictable.

Who is Vince McMahon?

Born on August 24, 1945, Vince McMahon is one of the most famous figures in the wrestling scene. A successful and lavish businessman (as seen by his office decor) who helped push the WWE to the heights of popularity it is at today, McMahon's impact on WWE cannot be understated. As said by Britannica, he is the largely responsible for the entity's transformation into a stylish, bombastic, theatrical affair. McMahon could be considered a modern P.T Barnum in terms of his showmanship magnitude.

McMahon was the CEO of WWE until 2022, when a few allegations came out. As Sport Business explains, there was an investigation within the company as to whether McMahon was involved with sexual misconduct. Reportedly, McMahon had an affair with an employee, to whom he paid $3 million to cover up. Eventually, news of the settlement, as well as three others, caught wind, and McMahon decided to step down not soon after.

Vince McMahon is a big rock fan

Vince McMahon may seem like an eccentric character, based on his showmanship, but his everyday life seems fairly straightforward. For one, the man seems to have a very predictable rock band favorite. Matt Striker, a WWE wrestler, told Wrestling Inc back in 2014 about McMahon's music tastes. According to him, McMahon is apparently a huge fan of the band AC/DC. The Australian metal band AC/DC made such hit albums like "Highway to Hell," "Back in Black," and "High Voltage."

As reported by Wrestling News Source, McMahon apparently likes to exercise to AC/DC, as a video posted on the site shows. Given that McMahon has a reputation for putting a lot of rock music into WWE venues, it's not a terribly big surprise that AC/DC would be his favorite. McMahon is a complicated, flawed individual, with a fair number of personal problems coming to light recently. And though he has stepped down from WWE, his legacy will probably live on — for better or for worse.
