Here's Who Inherited Robert Kardashian's Money After He Died
By now, we all know who Robert Kardashian is. Of course, Robert was the father of reality stars Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, and Robert "Rob" Kardashian II, and was married to the family matriarch, Kris Jenner, from 1978 until 1991.
Prior to his family members shooting to fame on the E! reality series "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," Robert was actually the one with his name in the gossip columns. The late lawyer famously served as the defense attorney for his family friend O.J. Simpson during his infamous murder trial in 1995 after he was accused of killing his former wife, Nicole Brown Simpson.
Robert sadly passed away a few years later in 2003, just two months after he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer, per CNN, with his children regularly speaking about him on TV, in interviews, and on social media. Of course, being a top lawyer for the rich and famous in Los Angeles, Robert amassed quite the fortune before his tragic death, but who exactly did he leave his impressive wealth to?
Khloé Kardashian denied being left millions by her dad
Did Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, and Robert "Rob" Kardashian II benefit from Robert Kardashian's estate? According, to Khloé, that would be a firm no. There have been plenty of rumors over the years suggesting Robert's four children inherited millions when he died, with The Trust Advisor even claiming in 2012 that the amount the Kardashian kids supposedly inherited from their dad could have been somewhere in the region of $100 million. However, that's been firmly denied by the famous family themselves.
Khloé told You in 2017 that she and her siblings didn't get any financial help after their dad's death and even claimed that she lost her job as well because she was working alongside her father at the time of his passing. "We didn't get one dollar when he died. We got no inheritance, not his home or his cars or anything," she explained, shutting down claims she had access to an eight-figure trust fund. After losing her job, Khloé couldn't keep up with her rent and ended up getting evicted, which forced her to move in with Kourtney.
Of course, with "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" taking off like it did, things are a little different for Khloé and Kourtney these days, as Khloé alone is now estimated to be worth $60 million, per Celebrity Net Worth.
Kris Jenner didn't see money from Robert Kardashian either
Kris Jenner has admitted the Kardashian clan were having some financial trouble before landing their gig with E! to make "Keeping Up with the Kardashians." Jenner confessed to Harvey Levin on "OBJECTified" that her divorce from Robert left her with nothing, and also suggested she too didn't see a penny after his death. "I went to the market one day and my credit card didn't work. I had a market credit card and I'm like, 'I can't even buy a tomato,'" she recalled during the 2018 interview. Jenner has been pretty open about why her first marriage broke down, confessing she and Robert split following her affair.
The Kardashians' longtime family friend Kathie Lee Gifford also attested to that, revealing in 2019 that the Kardashian/Jenner clan were finding it hard to make ends meet so much before they became the massive stars we know today that she once gave Jenner a loan. "Kris was having financial problems. I loaned Kris money years ago because they needed it. They were really struggling," she explained to People, sharing she became friends with the family when Jenner was still married to Robert. The former "Today" anchor also revealed she gave Jenner a nudge to give reality TV a try because she felt it might help her with her money woes. And it's safe to say it did!
Robert Kardashian's millions reportedly went to his third wife
So who did benefit from Robert Kardashian's estate? Well, it's thought his third wife Ellen Kardashian (who he dated for several years and married just six weeks before he died) got pretty much everything following her husband's death.
According to Radar Online, Robert left a will leaving everything to Ellen, which Kourtney Kardashian supposedly contested because she purportedly believed it to be fake. "Kourtney felt like she wanted to have her father's handwriting analyzed to make sure that he actually had written those things down that he left me. And she did," Ellen said in 2012, claiming the family weren't happy with her purportedly getting everything. "But every time she called the attorney about something, he would call me to let me know. It was never ending. There were many things, many things about the will."
The Kardashian family don't exactly have the best relationship with Ellen, who sued them for libel and slander after she claimed they made lied and made negative remarks about her, per Radar Online. That litigious situation wasn't all though, as the Kardashians also sued Ellen for copyright infringement, with E! News confirming that case was settled in 2014.
